Pinhead is here!
After a year of anticipation, we finally have our first look at actress Jamie Clayton’s version of Hell Priest Pinhead in the upcoming Hulu Hellraiser Movie.
Clayton shared the picture of her version of Pinhead on Instagram, giving us our first real look at the demon, and honestly, she’s beautiful.
For all you naysayers, Clayton’s Pinhead is just as creepy, just as sexy, just as weird, and just as iconic as the original. She could seduce me into an eternity of torture anytime!
On August 24th, we got a sneak peek at Clayton as Pinhead in the first teaser for Hulu’s remake of the classic horror film. In this teaser we see Pinhead red distorted by the letters of Hellraiser as the title rolled across the screen. But now we see the real deal.
We first found that Clayton (Sense8, The L Word: Generation Q) would appear as the demon Pinhead last October. Director David Bruckner (The Ritual, The Night House) said that Clayton is a perfect addition to the franchise, saying that she “completely embodies the role of Hell Priestess.”
Hulu Hellraiser The remake also stars Odessa A’zion, Goran Visnjic, Brandon Flynn, Drew Starkey, Adam Faison, Aoife Hinds and Hiam Abbass.
According to the official synopsis, the film “follows a young woman struggling with addiction who comes into possession of an old puzzle box, unaware that its purpose is to summon the Cenobites, a group of sadistic supernatural beings from within another Dimension.”
“This is not a remake,” Bruckner said Weekly entertainment. “I just didn’t think you could ever remake the original Hellraiser. It’s too much of its own and I think it would be dangerous territory for filmmakers because how do you top that? This is a new story in the Hellraiser Universe.”
“We felt a kind of expectation from the fans to reinvent the character,” he added of Clayton casting the role. “We knew we wanted Pinhead to be a woman. Jamie was just the right person for the role. A person’s identity can be really exciting for a role in so many ways, but I have to say that Jamie absolutely killed, that’s how we got there.”
EW also has exclusive looks at a new cenobite called The Masque, as well as the human characters played by A’zion and Visnjic.
Hellraiser debuts October 7th on Hulu, making it the perfect movie to get you in the Halloween spirit!
